Dear Prof. Harashima,

Glad to see you have started a Moodle site. I will be at JALTCALL in Mito and perhaps we can have a Moodle Users Group meeting there. Or at least we can sing the blues together (I studied in Chicago, by the way). Please print up a song and teach us there smile

With best regards,

I'm just starting out with Moodle as well. If you want, you can take a look at GoMoo, but there isn't too much to see there yet. I'm still getting my course descriptions and such online. Thanks for the tip about the new language pack-- I'll have to check it out.

The history of the Negroes in America is rooted in African culture. In 1619 twenty Africans landed at Jamestown, Virginia and were sold into slavery. By the 19th century millions of Negroes were brought and ware forced to work in the fields and plantation. The life of the Negro slave was not easy but they assumed Christianity a support of a comfort and brought their own songs known as Spirituals. After the Civil War, the black slave’s life was still not easy and they needed to be assimilated into the culture of the white society, but this was not successful. Still black’ people’s rights and benefits of American life were limited. They lived in ghettoes and faced severe prejudice. Not until the 1960s,Dr.Martin L.K.Jr.of civil rights organizations got equality and true freedom for blacks. His death in 1968 has created many opportunities for blacks with the hope living in a true integrated society.

I am now enjoying Harahara Moodle a little. From what did this originate ? I naturally associate with Moodle the well-known Chat ! Is there a close relation between these two formats ? Do you know Wiki ? PukiWiki ? I am trying now to extend my interests to people by using PukiWiki.  Please visit:

I am very happy to know any advantages Moodle has among others.

Dear Ken-chan,

Thanks  for visiting my Moodle site. Moodle is different from chat or wiki, if fact, Moodle contains all of those functions in itself. Moodle is one of Learning Management System or LMS for short. It can control all aspect of e-learning. I have done a number of  Moodle workshops in and out of Japan. If you are interested, I can show you what Moodle can do in detail. Come visit my office when you have time.

cheers,

Hideto
